2023 Maskers Meeting
On November 18th, 2023 from 5:00-7:00pm, there will be an annual meeting of Members of the Belfast Maskers at the Basil Burwell Community Theater, 17 Court Street in Belfast, Maine.
"Members of the Belfast Maskers" shall be those who have been involved in any production within any two-year period. All members shall have voting rights.
A proposed amendment to Belfast Maskers' by-laws shall be voted on. The amendment is as follows:
Current:
Article VI – Board Committees
· The following Committees shall be standing Board Committees and, except for the
Nominating Committee whose members must be Directors, their members need not be Directors and may include Maskers members or others and shall be appointed by a majority vote of the Board of Directors: Planning and Production (Committee); Marketing (Committee); Finance Committee; Nominating Committee.

The Nominating Committee members should consist of 4 to 6 members appointed by the Board of Directors. The purpose of the committee is to nominate members to the Board of Directors.The Nominating Committee members should be selected from board members and non-board members. Preferably two non-board members would be selected. The Nominating Committee elects its own chair.
Tom Maycock explains his proposed amendment:
"Under our current by-laws, only board members may be on the Nominating Committee for new board members. The proposed amendment would include non- board members on the committee. This change would allow more input from members."
