Story Songs of the 70s is a Maine-based seasonal concert series celebrating the legendary songwriters of the vinyl era — Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens, and Harry Chapin. Performed by a dynamic duo, the show blends lush vocal harmonies, 12 string guitars, and iconic story songs into a sound that’s both intimate and powerful. This special winter edition features a setlist of reflective wintry songs balanced with upbeat favorites that bring audiences together with cheer during the colder months (“Song for A Winter’s Night” and "Canadian Railroad Trilogy" by Gordon Lightfoot, “Into White” and "Katmandu" by Cat Stevens, "A Better Place to Be" and "Mr. Tanner” by Harry Chapin…) — performed with heart, humor, and stadium-worthy resonance.
New this season — Tom DiMenna and Story Songs of the 70s is now sponsored by John Pearse Strings, makers of the classic acoustic tone that defined the era.
