2025 Season

Becky's New Car
by Steven Dietz
March 7 - 16
Have you ever been tempted to flee your own life? Becky Foster is caught in middle age, middle management and in a middling marriage—with no prospects for change on the horizon. Then one night a socially inept and grief-struck millionaire stumbles into the car dealership where Becky works. Becky is offered nothing short of a new life…and the audience is offered a chance to ride shotgun in a way that most plays wouldn’t dare.
Becky's New Car is a thoroughly original comedy with serious overtones, a devious and delightful romp down the road not taken.
Directed by Erik Perkins.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

Finding himself under suspicion, Christopher is determined to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington, and he carefully records each fact of the crime. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a thrilling journey that upturns his world.

Maine Playwrights One Act Festival
June 20 - 29
We are proud to present another One Act Festival, this time with a twist: all four one act plays will be written by Maine playwrights! The first weekend's performances will be cabaret-style seating with wine, cheese, soft drinks, and more. The following weekend will be presented with normal theater seating. Come help us celebrate the incredible talent that can be currently found in our beautiful state!
Mr. Danby's Son
On a Saturday night, George Danby meets with Rev. Amanda Tacker to plan the funeral for George's father, who was murdered about a week before. Through the course of the play, the audience is offered the possibility that either George or Tacker might have committed the murder - and the conclusion reveals just how much his father was willing to forgive.
Written by Dennis Hartin of Tenants Harbor, ME. Directed by Angelina Nichols.
The Grey Monster
A troubled young woman returns to her family's isolated cabin, only to find it less abandoned than she thought. Dodging worried family, uninvited guests, and an opossum in the bathroom, she must somehow find answers to the violent mystery that tore her life apart.
Written by Georgeanne Oliver of Poland, ME. Directed by Olivia West.
Teams
Five white-collar employees are muddling through another day at the office when the communication tech they rely on reveals more than any of them would like. Teams asks how well we really know the people we spend most of our waking hours with, why we put so much trust in our machines, and the two questions some of us spend the bulk of our working days avoiding: What are we doing here, and is there no way out?
Written by Joshua W. Jackson of Brunswick, ME. Directed by Zafra Whitcomb.
Happily Ever After
Storybooks, swords, magic spells, and dragons? Your classic fairytale with an LGBTQ+ twist.
Written by Cassidy Small of Freedom, ME. Directed by Cassidy Small.

Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier
Book by Matt Lang, Nick Lang, and Eric Kahn Gale
Music and Lyrics by A.J. Holmes and Kaley McMahon
August 1 - 10
Hop on your flying carpet, because this musical parody retells the classic tale of Aladdin... from the villain's point of view! Long ago in a Magic Kingdom, one misunderstood Royal Vizier will go on a quest to save his city from its bumbling sultan, an invading prince, and the most notorious thief to ever live! With the help of the Kingdom's free-spirited, teenage Princess, the Vizier must find a magical lamp containing a wish-granting Djinn (who's really funny, by the way) and defeat the city's most-wanted criminal... Aladdin! This musical adventure celebrates and lovingly pokes fun at everyone's favorite series of hand-drawn, animated films.
Directed by Tucker Atwood.
One Blue Tarp
by Travis Baker
October 3 - 12
David Stillman, a retired Mainer, has just replaced the old, worn out tarp that covers a heap of odds, ends and whatnots out in his yard with a brand new one. It ought to last ten more years, but he finds out from his neighbor that the town of Clara has recently outlawed blue tarps out in folks' yards in an effort to spruce things up a bit and attract more tourists. Not one who likes to be told what to do with his own junk, David vows to fight the new ordinance and the rich woman from away, Gail Pritchard, behind it.
Meanwhile, his daughter Judy, a lesbian Boston lawyer, looks to get an injunction against the ordinance while fending off the advances of Gail’s daughter, Hester, and the past fancies of Officer Carl Ray, who is just trying to keep the peace and get a date to the contra dance. The forces from Maine and away come to a head at a good old fashioned town meeting, where tradition meets development and the way things are wrestles with how life should be. Sometimes we have to let go of the past and all the stuff that reminds us of it, and sometimes freedom is one blue tarp.
Directed by Meg Nickerson.

Puffs (or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic)
by Matt Cox
November 14 - 23
For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs... who just happened to be there too. This clever and inventive play gives a new look at a familiar adventure from the perspective of three potential heroes just trying to make it through a magic school that proves to be very dangerous for children. This is a tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world, an epic journey that takes the classic story to new places and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be.
Directed by Gwyneth Sauvage.
